  2. The main charater is Nick he is a bad person and ihave a connection about this and it is when I was a little girl I had a bad dream and it was about how I was a bad girl like Nick. Nick also hates not just school he also hates his literacy teacher Mrs. Granger and the reason is because she loves dicanarys and she always says " get your dicanarys and search this word. And the last charater is his friend and she also did the loud peep with Nick.

The main character Nick has more of a sarcastic personality unlike the other students

  4. I was inferring that jerked is an important word because it stood out to me. Nick is a student at Lincoln Elementary school and his personality is a trouble maker in miss.Deaver's room also Nick's teacher doesn't get mad at Him.

  5. My connection is that I got in trouble for putting SNAKES in my math teachers classroom!I didn't get sent to the principals office just a note sent home to my parents. I was extremely brave just like Frindle!

    Characters:

Frindle is a smart ,spontaniouslittle 4th grader just like me!
Mrs.Avery: a mean, old, and nasty teacher with a very rude behavior.

  6. I have found out that Nick has turned his teacher's room into a tropical island. I'm inferring that he will get into more trouble later into the book. Now that Nick is in the fifth grade he has a new teacher, Mrs.Granger. She is known to be evil, and now I'm getting the picture. Nick does not like Mrs.Granger so far.

  10. Today we are doing problem and this is mine. Well one problem is how Nick did a loud Peeeeeeeeep! in Mrs. Avery class and Mrs. Avery blamed Janet and she did not do it. A question I have is if Mrs. Avery will find out that it was Nick not Janet who did the loud Peeeeeeeeeeep!

  11. Our problem is that Nick made a high pitched chirp and made Janet Finch get in trouble. I think Nick should tell Mrs.Avery and that's just what he did! From that Day on Mrs.Avery heard a high pitched "Peeeeeeeeeeep"!

  12. I was thinking about when Nick keeps on making a loud peeeeppp! I think that's a problem. Mrs.Avery, ( Nick's fourth grade teacher) is getting really mad about that. She even part blamed it on Janet, who lives in Nick's neighborhood. I infer that Nick is going to do something to his fifth grade teacher. It would be sooooooo funny! :D

  14. I think that Janet will affect the book because Nick sometimes gets her in trouble.
The problem here is that Nick does bad things and does not get in trouble for it.

  15. I infer that Janet will not get to mad at Nick since they are really good friends . If they did not know each other very well they probably would get pretty mad.

Today when I was reading the problem was that Janet got blamed for something she did not do.

  16. Well in my book Frindle I think there is only one solution and that is when Nick did that loud peep and the teacher blamed Janet and what I think the solution to this problem is to tell Janet it is here foult

  17. I noticed that in our book the solution was him telling the teacher as I said the last time!:):):):):). I can relate to many things in the book like how Nick knows how to spell well and I do to:):):):):):)!

  18. I noticed that Nick and Janet are REALLY good friends.
The solution here is that Mrs.Granger will proboly not let Nick get into trouble.

  19. my thinking is that Nick is deprest about going in the fifth grade because he doesn't get morning recess and he is going to see miss.Granger every day for language arts.My problem yesterday was that Nick was getting in trouble and the solution was that Nick needed to be a better student at Lincoln Elementary school.

    CR

    ReplyDelete
  20. I have a qustion about the story.what will Nick do to Mrs.Granger in 5 grade. The solution for the problem yesterday is that Janit said that she did not do it and she sounded as if she might cry and at lunch Nick tolled her he did it and leted her do it to.

  21. What I think the main idea is of corse Nick but the main idea of the whole story is how Nick or Frindle always gets in trouble. I infere that Nick will sometime. Skip school and go to the office for doing something really like skipping school for no reason or saying that he was sick but not really sick and fake putting his mom or dad's hand writing.

    JS ;D;D;D

  23. I don't have any questions. Mrs.Granger and Nick are the main ideas of the book.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I highlighted the word MORNING RECESS because we don't get morning recess & we are in fourth grade so I am wondering why they got morning recess in the book Frindle. The main idea is that Nick is going to struggle in fifth grade with his new teacher Miss.Granger.

  25. This part of the story Nick had to do a big test, this reminds me of having to do the iowa testing. The main idea is Mz.granger is out smarting Nick.

  26. I have learned that Nick is having to do an extra assignment because he was trying to fool Mrs.Granger :p. I could see the fake smile that Mrs.Granger put on her face. I could here Nick thinking great, just great. The main idea is telling people that Mrs. granger is mean.:D

  28. I am inferring that Mrs.Granger is a get down to business teacher. Nick likes goofing off and I don't think Mrs.Granger will put up with that .

Mrs.granger is a short and skinny lady and she is very strict about each student having a dictionary in their home.

  29. The probolem is that Nick has to stand up in front of the whole room and read his report that he did not do.
I infer that mrs.granger will NOT like that he did not do his report.

  30. For one of my sticky notes I put I " I wonder why every language arts teacher is obsessed with the dictionary"?
The problem for Nick is that he is going into the fifth grade and he will see Mrs.Granger the mean language arts teacher.

    CR

  31. The problem is that Nick asked a question to Ms.Granger and Nick got an extra assignment and there's a rule at Nick's house that says, "homework first" and he's getting annoyed with that.:( Does anyone agree with me?:) I also have a question when Nick was asking a question about the dictionary what was the porpose of that because the book said " The other children knew what he was doing." ? Please help! :D

    JP :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am inferring that Nick will not get his extra assignment done in time. The problem is that Mrs.Granger gave Nick an extra assignment for asking a question. It is not fair! I bet Nick feels sad because it is a beautiful day and Nick does not get to play.

    LF

    ReplyDelete
  33. One problem that Nick has is that Mrs. Granger LOVES dicanarys and Nick did not do like twenty-five words and he is going to stand up to mean Mrs. Granger withD the whole class staing at him and as it says in the nook with Mrs. Granger punching eyes I think. One thing I infer is that like the letter from Mrs. Granger is really only to Nick because Nick has like missed at least twenty-five word week words in Mrs. Grangers class. And how Nick is like the only trouble maker in mrs. Granger class and I thought he would have more than twenty-five

    JS

    ReplyDelete
  34. 1. My thinking about Nick is always changing! Some of things I am wondering are if Nick will begin to like fifth. I am inferring that he and his friends will do something crazy in order to make fifth grade more fun!

    2. The solution to the problem of Nick not liking Ms. Granger is still unsolved. However, Nick is TRYING to stand up to Ms. Granger. I think that she will start to understand that he can care!

  35. The problem is that Nick doesn't like His teacher Mrs.Granger. I wonder if Nick will eventually start to like her? My thinking is that Nick will get in Mischief throughout the school year and grow a relationship.

    Ps this is from yasterday

  36. Threre is still no solution for the problem. But some of my thinking is that Nick will start to like Mrs.Granger once they find something in common. I wonder if Mrs.Granger likes being a teacher because she doesn't act like she enjoys being one?

    HD

    ReplyDelete
  37. So the answer to the problem (or the solution) is that Nick is probably going to finish his assignment and get Ms.Granger back somehow. Does any Frindle lover (so far) think the same thing? :)

This reminds of when I was in second grade I didn't finish a math assignment so I got it for extra homework. :(

    JP :D

  38. 1.I'm inrerring that if Nick has a lot of book reports in fifth we will have a lot of book reports or less because we have a awesome school ( you agree don't you guys well I hope so);) you know what reminds me of me is that how Nick has the same rule as me LOL!

    2. The blog I did was how Nick has to stand up well you know how we did not get to read today well my problem from yesterday has not been solved yer but I infer that Nick will solve the problem that I have and be a strong fifth grader and not a weak one

  39. For one of my sticky notes I highlighted the word SECRET . I am inferring that Janet will keep everything a secret. I was also wondering if Nick will rethink about fifth grade.

There was not a clear solution about Ms.Granger in the book yet but I am inferring that Nick might not ever like Ms.Granger.

    CR

  40. 1. My thinking is that Mrs.granger is trying to challenge nick to do an extra assignment . Nick likes challenges and I think he will fall for it.

  41. In this part of the story Nick said that Mrs.Granger put her eye's on full power,I don't understand what that means could someone tell me?

The solution here is that Nick is trying to stand up to Mrs. Granger.

  42. I am wondering why Ms.Granger is so obsessed with the dictionary.

The solution to Nick is going to fifth grade has not been answered yet but I am inferring that Nick will have to pull some prankes on Ms.Granger.

  43. I have a question. What is Nick going to say when he has to give his report on the dicshanary to Mrs.Granger.

The salotion for the teacher stopper problem is that Nick dose his report like he was tolled to.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The answer to evil Ms.Granger and the assignment has not been solved. Well, Nick does dislike her but, that's not an answer. All can say is that Nick still has the rule of homework first. : p

I predict that later in the book Nick ( Frindle, I think! ) is going to plan a scheme on Ms. Granger and it will be bad! : D

    JP P.S happy reading! :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am inferring that the solution soon will be that Nick outsmarts Ms.Granger instead of Ms.Granger.

My thinking today is that I think that Nick will find a way to sneak away so he does not have todo home work.

    LG:0

    ReplyDelete
  46. 1. Nick said that homework had never been such a big deal to Nick until he got an extra assignment. I am inferring that it had never been a big deal because Nick thought it was easy.now it was a big deal because it was not easy and he had to do extra.
2.the solution to the problem of mrs.Granger not liking Nick is not solved but it could be solved if Nick does his extra assignment!

  47. 1. Well today is solution and well since we had no book clubs yesterday I have no problem but I'll just well gat a problem well the problem is that ummm well Nick has to stand up to Mrs. Granger and the solution is to well I'm inferring that he is just going to get it over with.

    2. Well I have a question here it is. I wonder if Nick is ever not going to be a bad guy well let's say a trouble-maker.

    JS(hey guys)

  48. My thinking is that Nick is just like me in every way except for hating my teacher. But as I said he will proboly find something in common with her soon!

  49. 1.My mom is kind of like Ms.Granger because she also tells me to look up the word in the dictionary.

2.I think that the theme of the book is that if you don't like it at first you can still like it later on.

    2. CR

  50. My thinking is that fifth grade is not going to be that much fun for Nick at all:p! Some other thinking is that Nick will not just be all about buissness this year he will also just want have have fun and hang out with his Friends. He might even get in trouble along the way!!!

The theme is to not think that your teacher and even your year in fifth grade are going to be horrible.

    HD:):):p:D

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hey guys! I think the main idea of this part of the story is that you need to do your homework first, so you can have more play time! That's at least the rule at Nick's house. And now, he has an extra assignment for trying to make time fly at language arts class, with, evil Ms. Granger. :o

My thinking is over here, and if you want to read it, keep on reading. I wonder if Nick ever gets his assignment done? I am inferring and visualizing at the same time!

JP Have a good reading time, friends! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. My thinking today was...... I'm inferring that when Nick comes and stands up in front of Ms.Granger he will find a way to delay the time so he does not have to go in front of Ms.Granger.

I think the theme is do the more important things first.

    LG:0

    ReplyDelete
  53. 1. What I think the theme is for chapter let's say two you know how he did the big loud peeeeeeeeep and how Janet right ok let's just move on how Janet got in trouble and how Nick told her that he did it well that what I think the theme is if someone gets in trouble even when It is your foult always tell the other person it was you and if they get in really bad troulble tell the teacher it was you not someone else

    2. One thing I can relate to I'd the part that says nicklous cause I use to have a friend name Nick and we were BFFS but shhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone we now HATE each other

    JS :P :D

    ReplyDelete
  54. 1.I have a question. Will Mrs.Granger make Nick do his report over if she dose not like it?
2.The thame in this part of the story is to do what your teacher says.

p.s.what do you think will happen to Nick when he gives his report?

    Sb

    ReplyDelete
  55. 1.I am inferring that Nick was distracted by the baseball game that his friends were playing outside . I think this because the game was making a lot of noise.
I think that made Nick feel sad and lonely because he had to do extra homework while they were playing.
2.I think that the theme is to not ask questions during class to try to get out of class. If Nick did not ask that question then none of this would ever happen.

    L F

    ReplyDelete
  56. 1.I think that Nick will get him self in trouble all of fifth grade with some of his friends.
2.The plot in the story so far is the climax because the main problem is that Nick is having a tuff time in fifth grade because of Mrs.Granger.

    SB
PS:what do you think will happen to Nick in fifth grade?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I highlighted that Nick thought that fifth grade was going to be a long year for him and I put on my note that I am inferring that Nick meant that like he is thinking that fifth grade might be a bad year for him.

I think that I am still in the beginning of the story because I am getting to the rising action part.

    CR

    ReplyDelete
  58. Nick finally gave his report today and stalled almost twenty minutes,I think he did this skip a assignment or a homework assignment.

I think we are in the middle of the rising action and the CLIMAX becaus the problem is starting and it's getting exiting.

    LG:0

    ReplyDelete
  59. 1.I am inferring that it took Nick a lot of time to read all of the text about dictionaries . He had to read two dictionaries full.

2.Right now we are beginning to enter the climax. Nick has to do an extra assignment and a whole lot of reading.
    L F

    ReplyDelete
  60. Here I will show you the plot. I am on page 23 and I think I am in the rising action, and the reason is because I am in the part that Nick is getting his report,(chapter 5) and he's in school and I am inferring that most of the setting in the book will be at school, or in Ms. Granger's classroom. What do you guys predict?

When I thought about the book report, I thought about what Ms. Granger could of thought. Maybe " Haha, you didn't fool me!" This is from me, a reading kid,

    JP :D

    ReplyDelete
  61. 1. The plot I think that we are in is rising action is when Nick says his report you may not think that is exciting but when you read that part you will think it is exciting

    2. One thing that ere minded me about my life was when it says got something out of his book bag and that reminded me of when I was a little girl my mom use to tell me a story about a boy who had every thing in his bag

  62. One thing that I think that Nick has changed is that he is getting a little nicer and turning in his school stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One question I have is if Nick is going to be like a teacher pet?

  63. The word that I inferred is Frindle and what I infer is that Frindle means a pen because in the book it is a pen but it also says " here's your .............. Frindle

    JS

    ReplyDelete
  64. My schema about cininims is that they are something the same to another and pen is something you write with.
My text clues are that it said "insdead of pen he said frindle"
so I infer that frindle means pen.

  65. S- I know that Mrs. Granger is evil, and the kids are bored to death, but not really to death.Plus, the report went by so smoothly.
TC- I know this because in the beginning of the book the author said many things that Mrs.Granger sound evil. I know that the book report went by smoothly because Mrs. Granger never said anything mean during that time.
I- Perhaps Mrs. Granger is going to give more people reports because she might love seeing the kids bored to death. And again, Nick's book report went by very smoothly so I'm looking forward to reading about more book reports.

I know I have to do my homework when I imeadetly come home from school.

    Text Clues:
The text clues I found to help me figure out that Nick doesn't like homework were that the way the author wrote the part I highlighted you could Just imagine a boy saying it.

    Inference:
I infer that Nick in the future will some way get out of doing his homework. Perapsby lying to his parents shoe can hangout with his friends.

  67. Schema: My schema is that Nick doesn't like school.

  69. I infer that Nick is going to be mad at that reporter for publishing his story with out asking. The plot is that the reporter has published nicks frindle story in the paper.I'm inferring that the reporter will find Nick in chapter 11.

    ReplyDelete
  70. My inference about Nick's feelings is that he is confedent in giving his report about dictionaries.my other inference is about Nick's motive and he is feeling motive by giving his report to Ms.Granger.

  71. In the part that I'm really in i think that Nick is trying to get the store lady to get use to the word Frindle cause when Nick asaked for a Frindle she had no idea what it was but Since Nick got a lot of people to say u want a Frindle shennow knows what the kids mean . And how i think Nick is felling about that is really happy and I'm inferring that nick will do the same to other people who don't know what a frindle is.

    JS

    ReplyDelete
  72. I infer that Nick will continue getting in trouble by His parents and the teachers at the school. Nick will probably get grounded by his parents once they figure out what had happened at school the past few days.

    HD :p:D:);)

    ReplyDelete
  73. I infer that Judy will help Nick make the word known to everybody in the city.

The plot about what me SB and JP read today was about the reporter coming in and Trying to come and see why all kids are writing sentences.

    LG

    ReplyDelete
  74. I infer that Nick is going to keep on trying hard to make the word " frindle " a real word, and actually mean the word " pen ". Maybe Nick is feeling sick of always going to Mrs. Granger's classroom and wrighting " I am wrighting this punishment with a frindle" 100 times. Although, I predict that Nick and everyone else will not give up even if Mrs. Granger turns wrighting " I am wrighting this punishment with a frindle " to 1000 words.

JP says " Hey guys! This is getting interesting! :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. 1. This past few weeks frindle has finally made since to me. Today in the book,Nick is having a word war with mrs.granger. They are arguing over being able to say frindle or not .

    2. Nick had always had something missing in his life. Now today he had figured it out . To solve this Nick made up the word frindle instead of pen now even the board was involved in this. I am inferring that Nick will get in big trouble.
    LF

    ReplyDelete
  76. What I think that the problem is that nobody knows what a Frindle is. And how i think Nick will solve that is to say" I would like a Frindle and do exactly what he did to the book store lady.

    JS

    ReplyDelete
  77. The problem is that the reproter published that story about the frindles.I'm inferring that the solution is that the town will com down and stop saying frindles.

    SB
Ps: what do you think will happen?

    ReplyDelete
  78. The problem is that Nick is giving a report and ms.Granger is interested in it but the class is taking it as a joke. The solution is that ms.Granger will keep them under control and make them listen!

    CR

    ReplyDelete
  79. The main event so far is that people are starting to stop buying " frindles " ( pen ).
I infer that people are stopping because it's starting to get ennoying, or boring.
But, I also do predict that Nick will do something about it so the word frindle will become popular again. I infer this because I am not to close to the end of the book.

JP says " So guys, is it getting interesting?" . : D

    ReplyDelete
  80. The problem that occurred in our book is that Nick came up with the word frindle instead of saying pen and Mrs.Granger doesn't like it at all. I infer that the solution is that Nick will soon tell everyone in the city about that word.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Today the problem is that the principal came to nicks house and is talking to nick and his parents. They are talking about how much trouble Nick has caused by using the word frindle .

    2. Since nicks mom is on nicks side i am inferring that he will not get in trouble from her. I am inferring that nicks mom will help Nick get out of this mess.

    L F

    ReplyDelete
  82. The problem today is about all the teachers getting mad at mrs.granger because of her talking to the reporter.I infer that the solution will be that mrs.Chatham will tell mrs.granger to stop the word war.

I wonder why that Nick barely knows anything about the papers and the article about him

    LG :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. The problem is that Nick came up with the word frindle which is another word for pen. But Mrs.Granger doesn't like the word at all!! I infer the solution is that Nick will tell everyone in the city about that word so they can get on Mrs.Grangers nerves.

    HD

    ReplyDelete
  84. HD, I agree with you that the problem is that people are using Frindle and not pen but about the solution I think that that mite not work cause. How could he tell the whole city about a Frindle??

JS ( cant wait to read the rest of the book) :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. LF,
I agree with you. I also think since Nicks Mom is on his side that he will not get in trouble. Hopefully we can find out soon! Why do you think that Nick will not get in trouble by his mom?

    HD :):)

    ReplyDelete
  86. HD I agree with you that the problem is that Nick made up the word frindle but it is not only getting on ms.Granger's nerves but about every fifth grade teacher's nerves and the principal too.My question is that how did you come up with your inference?

    CR

    ReplyDelete
  87. HD I agree with you with the problem but will the solution solve the problem?
It will make Nick and his friends happy but what about the teachers and the other adults?
I am thinking that your solution might cause a bigger problem.

    LF

    ReplyDelete
  88. JP I agree with you about the problem but don't you think that mrs.Chatham will make the whole thing stop?
Ya,know since she's annoyed by it.

    LG

    ReplyDelete
  89. LG, I agree with you about t the problem, because all the parents are getting mad, too. But, I do not think that Mrs. Granger will end this war. I think that she will make another word that is similar to the word pen, and means the same thing as pen. I think this because in the book I'm pretty sure that they said that Mrs. Granger never gives up or something like that. I'm just saying that I think that Mrs. Granger will find some sort of solution to this. Do you agree? do you think that Mrs. Granger will give up?
    JP Happy reading!

  92. Frindle group,
I am wondering how Nick even came up with the word frindle. I am inferring that he just came up with a fun word and said it meant pen.

  94. Dear group,
We are at the part when Judy Morgan is asking the questions to Mrs. Chatman and Mrs. Granger and what i infer is that the parents will be ok that they are using the word Frindle because there kids and they can make up word if they like to and how I think that it will get out is by the newspaper that Judy Morgan is doing

  95. LF,
Yes the solution will solve the problem because when Mrs.Granger is out doing stuff instead of people saying pen all that she will hear is Frindle.
I am not so sure about the teachers and other parents but they don't have to know about what Nick and the other students are doing. If it causes a bigger problem Nick will probably come up with a solution to both of those problems.

  96. HD ,
I think that nicks mom is on nicks side because earlier in the book when mrs.Chatham went to nicks house nicks mom stood up for Nick and agreed with nick not mrs.Chatham.
